How to Spot Fake Aviche Air Purifier

After spending good money shopping for a product, one of the worst feelings is realizing you eventually bought a fake. Unfortunately, like most products, there’s been an infiltration with the counterfeit Aviche air purifier, making customers uncertain and worried. This has led many people to ask how one can easily spot a fake Aviche purifier, so they don’t fall victim?

The numerous variations in the counterfeit Aviche purifier designs make it hard to give exact information for all. One of the most effective means to confirm authenticity is scanning and sending the QR code on the package. Although, this implies that you’d have bought the product already because you need to scratch open the sealed, unique code.

Aviche air purifier is one of the popular air purifiers available in the market today designed to curb air pollution. However, as numerous counterfeits pose as the original product, one needs to know how to spot the fakes. In this article, I’ll share vital tips that’ll help you distinguish an authentic Aviche purifier from the numerous fake ones.

How Do I Know If My Aviche Is Real?

Airborne pollutants like bacteria and viruses, especially the fatal COVID-19 virus, have been on the rise with an increased death rate. This has led to the urgent need to produce air purifiers to help curb and eliminate these impurities.

However, It appears that for every original product, more than one fake substitutes emerge and infiltrate the market. Unfortunately, the Aviche air purifier isn’t left out. Many fake wearable air purifiers have been pumped into the market, posing as the original Aviche.

There are several reasons the infiltration of fake products poses a concern to consumers and producers alike. Firstly, asides from the associated health hazards (if any), it threatens to render the efforts of original producers useless. Secondly, situations like this can tarnish the image of the original company, especially when customers can’t tell the difference.

Most of these counterfeit products bear the same name as the original products. So for all most buyers know, the fake products can also be from the same manufacturers.

On October 12th, 2021, the official Aviche released an Anti-Counterfeit claim. The exact statement reads, “Dear All Customers and Distributors; we found there are many fake AVICHE Air Purifiers including AVICHE M1 and AVICHE M1 3.0 in the market recently.

These fake products are counterfeiting AVICHE’s LOGO and package and are selling very lower price in Lazada, Shopee and some facebook shops.”

One of the simplest ways to detect if an Aviche cleaner is an original product is verifying its authenticity. Doing this is easy because each product usually has a sealed “anti-counterfeiting code” on the packet.

You first need to gently scratch off the silvery coat to reveal the 16 digits verification code. Once seen completely, you can scan the code or log in to the product’s website. Enter the 16 digits verification code, and within seconds, the authentication results will show if it’s fake or real.

How to Spot Fake Aviche Air Purifier?

Fake Aviche air purifiers are sold on platforms like Shopee and Lazada. Unfortunately, many customers have fallen victims, buying these fake air purifiers with low-quality risk instead. So, how can you quickly tell that an Aviche air purifier is fake?

I’ll use the M1 3.0 black version as an example to show you the difference between a fake and a real deal.

The Product’s Package

Main Label

Original: The mid part of the label is pure white. Patterns on the label are clear, and the colours are shiny.

Fake: The mid part of the label is off-white or gray. You should quickly notice that the patterns and colours are dim and blurry.

Product Identification Label

Original: The label bears the “M1”, is immaculately white, and the circled “black” underneath is written in regular font. There’s also a positioning line beside the label.

Fake: The label is somewhat grayish yellow, and the circled “black” has bold fonts. There’s no positioning line beside the “M1” label.

CE Certification

Original: The authentic Aviche “M1” has a bold “CE” certification stamped on the backside of the packet.

Fake: You most likely won’t see the CE certification at the back of the package.

Fake: Most of them don’t have a production date in their manuals.

However, you need to note that there are numerous fakes in the market today. Due to this, not all of them will have the exact inferior details. Nevertheless, with a comprehensive check, you should be able to tell if the Aviche purifier you see is fake or authentic.

How Effective Is Aviche Air purifier?

Most Aviche air purifiers are designed to be more of a personal air purifier. There are portable designs that come as necklaces. They’re commonly known as “wearable air purifiers.”

Most of them are featherlight, small, relatively inexpensive, and portable. These small wearable Aviche purifiers have also become famous for preventing bacteria and virus inhalation. They achieve this by using ionizers and ionization mechanisms to screen out contaminants from the atmosphere.

Aviche air purifiers aren’t like stationary home air purifiers integrated with HEPA filters. Instead, wearable air purifiers work by emitting negative ions into the air in close proximity to them per minute. These negative ions released into the air are called “Anions,” meaning a negatively charged ion.

The ions free the air around you from airborne pollutants like dust mites, viruses, bacteria, smoke, molds, and pollen.

The COVID-19 virus and the omicron variants are part of the reasons these wearable air purifiers are produced.

People and scientists alike have questioned how effective Aviche air purifiers are in keeping away airborne pollutants. This includes the COVID-19 virus, which is a life-threatening one at that.

How Aviche Air Purifier Works in Theory

The Aviche purifier emits millions of electrically charged negative ions into its immediate atmosphere. These ions bind to the viruses and impurities in the air, transmitting the negative charge into the contaminants. This action makes the encountered particles become negatively charged as well.

Then, the negative ions inverting its magnetic action will repulse the anions now fastened to the contaminants. This way, they effectively ward off these pollutants from a person’s breathing area.

A group of scientists conducted a study to confirm the above theoretical explanation of the purifier’s effectiveness. They conducted this study using four portable ionizing air purifiers as study samples.

The scientists placed each sample in a 0.46m³ (up to 16.22 ft) sized tent. Then using the appropriate tools, they calculated how many air particles each wearable purifier could remove.

The result showed that three of the four purifier samples eliminated below 10% of particles 20cm (0.1 ft) afar. 10% effectiveness is relatively poor for a purifier with uncountable pollutant particles to combat. It’s also way below the 90% defence people get when they wear nose masks instead.

In addition, this test was performed in small enclosed chambers with no airflow (that’s static air). The chances of these purifiers performing poorly in an open space (the real world) are even higher.

The result above shows that wearable air purifiers aren’t effective in purifying the air from particles and viruses. Well, maybe getting 10% protection from these portable air purifiers is better than nothing, right?

Drawbacks of Air Purifier Necklaces

Aside from the poor results obtained from the study, there are other concerns regarding using these ionizer purifiers.

Different studies have shown that there’s a likelihood that these purifiers produce ozone because they use ionizers. Ozone is harmful to the human body and can lead to respiratory issues or complete lung damage.

The ozone created by wearable air purifiers could cause further health hazards. They can interact with terpenes- a substance found in personal care products like perfumes, makeup, lotions, etc. This reaction could produce harmful VOCs like formaldehyde which isn’t healthy, especially for the head region.
